MUSAŠI ENTETAINMENT COMP: Essay on Light
Essay on Light is an experimental puppet show based on an interest in theater technology and the belief that it is important to share one’s thoughts on creation in an artistic form, thereby bringing the possibilities of contemporary theater closer to the audience. Through a mosaic of audiovisual essays, we enter worlds where light plays an important role, whether it is prehistoric man’s mastery of fire or the transmission of the internet via optical cables.
Warning for people sensitive to light: Colored or rapidly flashing lights are used during the performance.
Company
The Musaši Entertainment Company (MEC) was founded at KALD DAMU, and its inaugural act was the staging of the puppet show Entomologious (2020). The main tools of the group’s theatrical work are visual dramaturgy and the hazy presence of narrative. MEC operates in the sphere of alternative theater and visual installations. In 2023, the group was honored by the …příští vlna/next wave… festival in the category of talent of the year.
The permanent members of Musaši Entertainment Company are Adam Páník, Tereza Havlová, and Františka Jesenská. Other friends and acquaintances collaborate on various projects of the group.
